Weekend by Buerbbery Perfume

Don’t we always look forward to weekends? After an exhausting week at work, the thought of a laid-back country lifestyle is a welcome respite from the chaotic weekdays that passed. Burberry’s Weekend Perfume has captured the much-coveted weekend moments in a floral-themed fragrance. The top notes greet you with sweet and zesty tangerine blossoms blended with aromatic grassy notes. Floral notes dominate the mid notes. It features blue hyacinth, iris, nectarine, peach flower, red cyclamen and wild rose. While the base notes fade into a warm and powdery blend of sandalwood, cedar and musk. Weekend’s fresh-energetic aura is perfect for day and evening wear. It’s bright and cheerful with a certain indescribable uniqueness that conveys sophistication and quality.

One perfume pundit thinks that Weekend is a light fragrance on the overall – it’s lightly sweet, lightly floral. Devoid of uniqueness, the fragrance is more of an extension of the original version. Sweet but not refined, highly attractive with a very comfortable ambiance, “Burberry Weekend is a very good scent that, except for over spraying (it’s not a weak scent), would be impossible to misuse. Charming, discreet, mistake proof if carefully sprayed – not very intriguing but much more than adequate.” However, another critic thought otherwise, “It was classy without being stodgy, almost like it took the traditional “classic” perfume smell and added a new, younger twist. The staying power is extraordinarily long, but not cloying, and it will stay on you softly. If you want to have your perfume last the entire day, this is the one to choose. I feel this could work year-round, as it has enough power to last through a winter day without evaporating completely.”

The men’s version of Weekend is heavily citrus-based. The composition is similar to the woman’s fragrance but sprinkled with lots of zesty mandarin and juicy pineapples. It’s neither too fruity nor woodsy; rather, it’s just the right mix of notes – light, clean and refreshing. The lightness of the scent, however, doesn’t come off as very masculine. Some say that a woman can carry the men’s fragrance as well. Men who wore this fragrance didn’t like its sillage; longevity is a bit weak. You have to be real close to be able to smell it. In addition, male perfume critics find it the fruity, summery aroma too juvenile. Hence, not appropriate for serious adults who want to project elegance and candor. Weekend for Men is a decent casual scent, good enough to be a light everyday scent.
