Hanae Mori is primarily strawberries and almonds. At first sniff, you would conclude that it’s vanilla-based but the truth is, there is no vanilla accord present in the fragrance. None at all. Hanae Mori Eau Fraiche is a spin-off of the original; a limited edition launched in 2008. The notes are almost the same but more fruity and gourmand. The opening greets you with a bunch of mandarin wood and grapefruit followed by berries, currants and a bouquet of florals. The base culminates with a matte finish dominated by almond accords and hints of musky woods.

This floral green fragrance is unlike the original Butterly. Hanae Mori Haute Couture is more like an extravagant vintage scent. It’s quite heavy at first whiff and traces of sharp florals linger.
